How To Get Your Song Featured On Spotify Playlists.
Spotify is the new radio and every music labels can confirm that. That’s why they work hard to place their artists into Spotify playlists. Indeed, music listeners, these days, instead of turning on the radio, they rather plug their phones to an Aux or bluetooth device to stream music on Spotify, Tidal or Apple music. But the statistics clearly shows that Spotify is the most frequented platform. So it's important, for an artist that wants to shine, to have his songs featured on Spotify playlists.
Actually, there are two types of Spotify playlists:
Editorial Playlists — Which are curated by the Spotify Editorial Team.
Indeed, those playlists are no longer that hard to get on, but the editorial team is extremely picky. They have different criteria to justify the way they pick artists to feature. But one thing is clear — If your music is good, the editorial team will give you a chance.
Independent Spotify Playlists — Curated by random users, companies, Major or independent artists, Blogs, and Models etc.
Those playlists are easier to get on as long as your music sounds good and suits the curator’s taste. In certain cases, curators will ask for your support (donations, shares on socials…) and in others, they'll just feature it for free.
Certain group of curators only accept submissions through platforms like Submithub and Groover… while others accept via email.
